Albi; Arabic for ‘my heart’ is the debut restaurant from chef/owner Michael Rafidi, located in the Navy Yard neighborhood in Washington DC. For his first solo restaurant, chef Rafidi draws inspiration from his roots in the Levant region, bringing to the table an experience that melds the ancient culinary tradition of the region’s coal-fired cuisine with local, seasonal ingredients, and refined culinary acumen.

The Levant is the area of the world that runs along the eastern edge of the Mediterranean. The flavors of the are tend to be lighter and brighter than the ones found on the Arabian Peninsula. Rafidi's real talent lies in his ability to master the balance between spice, acid, and smoke.
